2024 Wassamasaw Tribe Annual Powwow 

Our 2024 Annual Powwow was held October 12th 2024 from 10 AM - 5 PM at Old Santee Canal Park in Moncks Corner, SC

2023 Wassamasaw Tribe Annual Powwow

Join us at the Annual Wassamasaw Pow Wow to socialize, dance, sing, and help us honor our culture. There will be many vendors and activities for youths. Everyone is invited to experience and learn about Native American Culture.
 
Please bring your own chairs. This is a family oriented event. No outside food or drinks allowed.

?️ Join us for a fantastic event with 20+ vendors offering a wide variety of food and crafts.
 
? Don’t miss out on our Marsh Tacky horse exhibition. They will be discussing the breed and how they tie into our tribal history. They will also be offering rides for a unique experience!
 
???? Families, we have a special children’s area with sweets and jump castles for the little ones. Charlie the River Dog, the mascot of the Riverdogs baseball team, will be making a guest appearance from 11AM -12PM
 
? Exciting news! Bobby Branton, a Jean Laney Harris Folk Heritage Award winner, will be showcasing his award-winning knives at the event. He is a 3x inductee into the International Knife Throwers Hall Of Fame
 
?Keith "Little Bear" Brown, Master Catawba Potter and storyteller will be demonstrating Indian Pottery traditions
 
?️ While you’re here, make sure to visit the Berkeley County Museum and Heritage Center to explore our new exhibit. View pottery pieces, regalia, a timeline from the 1600s to present, along with cultural art still being done today, like Gourd Painting. Our hand made tribal drum will be on display.
 
? And don’t forget to explore the beautiful grounds of the Old Santee Canal Park. See you there!
