Upcoming Events …….

June 25th - 7pm-9pm - Sandpiper Lanes - All active members can bowl for free.  Additional friends and family members will need to pay for their games and shoes. Please RSVP at the tribal office (761-1136) to let us know you are coming so we can reserve the right amount of lanes.

July 10th - 9:30 am - Tribal Office - Our next Executive Board meeting will be held.  We appreciate as much participation as possible, so please plan to attend.

July 24, 2010 - 11 am - Maranatha Baptist Church - We will be having a Varnertown Indian School Reunion (1938-1963) and will be sending out special invites to all community members who attended this school.  We will be documenting the oral history and lunch will be supplied.  Please contact the tribe to let us know any family members who attended this school so we can be sure to include them in this special event.

August 15, 2010 - 4pm-6pm - Gateway Community Church - Our next community dinner will be held on this date.  Please remember to bring a covered dish!!  This event has been growing each quarter and we appreciate the support you continue to show the tribe!

A newsletter will be completed and sent out by the end of June.  Please ensure your address is correct on the tribal roles in order for you to receive your copy. Please call the tribal office or email us at the tribal website to verify.

Drum Group – Anyone interested in learning how to drum, please meet us at the Tribal Office.  Practice will be held every 1st Saturday of the month from 4 PM – 6 PM at the Tribal Office.  We are especially looking for young adults of our tribe to participate.

Tribal Dues – If you have not paid tribal dues please note that $25.00 tribal dues plus $10 late fee must be sent for you to be an active member of the tribe.  Dues can be mailed via Check or Money Order to the Tribal mailbox at 131 Benjamin Drive. 

The Executive Board members of the Wassamasaw Indian Tribe of Varnertown have planned the following events, programs, and activities for 2010 (to view events from previous years, please click on the Past Events Tab on the sidebar).  We look forward to your attendance and participation in these programs and activities.  Please check the tribal website (wassamasawtribe.com or wassamasawtribe.org) for changes or updates to these events.
